Creating
this blog has been both fun and very difficult. I have been trying to do a lot
of cool things with links and pictures and what not, but I am limited by my
lack of knowledge of technology. It has been fun in ways that I am able to
organize my writing in a way that makes sense and gets the reader's attention
best. One thing that I wish we didn't have to do is have a common theme.
Although the theme ties everything together in a creative way, I have some
pieces that are better than one or two in my blog, but don't fit the theme.
So far I have greatly enjoyed this class and making this blog. It has pushed me to try new writing styles and genres that I normally wouldn’t know about. I believe that the different genres help to make my blog ten times better than what it might normally be. It forces me to mix up what I’m writing about so that the reader stays interested. This blog has also given me inspiration for the future. Although I don’t want to become a writer one day, it would be nice to write just to write and have it all in one location. It shows that you don’t have to write each piece on paper and keep it all in a folder. You can keep it digitally so that you may have it forever for yourself and others to read and edit.
For this project I used Weebly. For the most part it has been great, but at times it gets frustrating. It sometimes acts a lot like google docs did when it first came out. There were lots of glitches and things not working as smoothly as I would like them to. I found myself typing everything in a Word document then copying and pasting it onto my blog because it wouldn’t format the way I wanted it to on the blog itself.
One thing I have a problem with is procrastination. I didn’t cram all my writing into the last second, but I wish I would’ve started earlier. If I had started earlier I could’ve gotten better revision and made my blog exactly how I wanted it to turn out. But with the time I did it in, I feel that it went fairly well. I also struggle a lot with making titles. So I'm sorry if some of them don't make sense! I had a lot of fun making this blog and I think it’s the best idea to turn all your writing pieces in. It makes it fun and creative instead of just printing out my pieces and having to turn them in.
